Research examples
My UX design role at AWS offered me the opportunity to dive deep and conduct mixed-method user research by collaborating with UX researchers as well as work independently. This helped shape the direction of org-impacting work, foundational generative AI efforts, as well as inform impactful redesigns of critical knowledge discovery products.
BuilderHub redesign
Client: AWS-Amazon Software Builder Experience | Method: Qualitative
BuilderHub, the Amazon Software Builder Experience documentation, tools and workflow portal serving over 76,000 monthly users, engaged me for UX consulting prior to a major visual design update of the product. I advocated for a foundational three-phase research effort to inform any UX related changes. To support the full UX and visual design as well as development effort, I instituted a Braveheart early adopter program to identify engaged users for feedback and gate new experiences before full release. The program exceeded participation targets by four times. Both the research I delivered and the Braveheart community continue to support the efforts of the BuilderHub team today.

Broadcast video page redesign
Client: AWS-Amazon Software Builder Experience | Method: Qualitative
Broadcast is Amazon’s video knowledge discovery platform, serving over 80,000 monthly users. The Broadcast team wanted to promote discovery through the underutilized “related videos” section of the video page. I recommended working backward from the customer by conducting user research to discover how users were currently interacting with the video page, opportunities to improve discoverability of new content and areas of improvement. The research identified opportunities for design improvements as well as opportunities to improve how users consume video-based content.
